SUMMER VACATION TO NELSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Helllllllllllloooooooooo A couple of weeks ago I went on a one week vaca/vacation to Nelson Golden Bay we went to a motel the one we got was................

MOTEL 1 

It was cool and awesome we were really close to the beach I could just go there for a walk I went there everyday I also had half the worst time there you wanna guess I went to the beach on Monday it was night so I had to clean the sand off my sandals and theres a tap outside of the house so I cleaned them off then I walked on the side off the house and I bumped my head really hard it was really sore I went into the house then I sat down and ate my dads ice cream and I was crying then he said

"Is the ice cream that bad?" I said no to him and then I said that I had bumped my head then I can't say the rest but I can tell you that I was A-okay and all fine thats it that is my TERRIBLE TERRIBLE holiday.

As you know my latest post was about SLG this one is 'Discovering Aotearoa' I think it would be quite to cool do it ..... Lets get started

On our SLG second day well I picked my one choice so here it is

Activity 2: Discovering Aotearoa [4 points] Many people believe that Kupe was the first explorer to discover Aotearoa, New Zealand in about 1300. He navigated his way by waka to Aotearoa from Hawaiki using traditional Polynesian navigation techniques - just like Nainoa Thompson (from Activity 1) did much later on. Legend says that he followed a great octopus all the way to Aotearoa/New Zealand and finally destroyed it in Cook Strait (the water between the North and South Islands). Many years later, a Dutch explorer from The Netherlands, Abel Tasman, was exploring the Pacific Ocean when he came across New Zealand. He thought that he was the first person to ‘discover’ the country (despite the fact that Māori already lived in New Zealand!) and made the claim in 1642 that he had ‘discovered’ a new land. His exploration of New Zealand inspired many other European explorers to follow his lead and travel to the Oceania. Kupe and Abel Tasman were two different men from two very different backgrounds (cultures) who shared a common interest - exploration.
